Stairway to heaven

Today I'd like to put in a less "travel-like" picture. Here what was interesting to me is both the composition and the complex pattern of the sky. The picture is not processed even if some enhancements are needed. But in these day I'm quite short of time.

Eolie Islands

This great shot is from Laura. It's a view of the Eolie Islands in Italy. I liked this picture very much for the desolation feeling it gives. In my opinion this is very expressive. I've more picture from her and I'll post them in next days.

Back to home.

Finally back to home. Home sick is very bad sometimes.

Sausages tree

As you can see in the comments of this post, we got some infos about this curious tree.
Myapiichan said that the indonesian name of this tree is 'pohon asem' wich means 'sour tree'.
Also Stefania is telling us that in Cuba they are used to make a musical instrument called guiro. Thanks to all of you for this infos :-)

Garden

Gardens in Bangalore are full of life and citizens use them to have a few moments of relax and rest. This picture is from Cubbon park, in front of the Parliament palace.

Traditional drawings

During Dassara fest days women draw traditional figures on the pavement. These figures follow a predefined scheme that is started by drawing a set of dots and then linking these dots to form a figure. The figure is then filled up with brilliant colours.

Contrast

Will the progress of India walk over their traditions? The cars seems to be aiming at the old woman.

Hearth and sky

Thanks to Tiziana for this shot. The Bryce Canyon (Utah) is always stunning and still gives beautiful views. I liked the contrast between roks and clouds.

Columbus Circle in New York

This very interesting shot was taken in New York by a friend on mine. It's really good. But you must know she's also an artist (and a computer scientist). Thanks Clara.

Divide

The Parliament palace in Bangalore. This city shows a lot of contrasts and this shot tries to represent one. The palace is brilliant and amazing, but great part of population seems to be living very poorly. I suppose there's a great divide between high/middle class and the rest of population. Neverthless the country looks to be very aggressive in facing this situation and lots of investments are being put in place to develop infrastructures, education, job market and businesses while maintaining strong traditions.

Fruits

Today I've posted an heavily processed image showing fruits sellers at a public park in Bangalore. Unfortunately I don't know the name of the fruits in the foreground (may be some kind of coconuts).

Public library

One of the public libraries in Bangalore. I though a more "turistic" shot would be interesting as well. The picture is not processed and the colours are rendered as they are.
Roberto.

Indian flowers.

Broad use of flowers is common here. The nature is brilliant and pervasive (thanks to monsoons too) and people exploit it in different ways.

People

A view of people in Bangalore. Please note in the background the ubiquitous mini taxi (auto rickshow). They are Ape Piaggio models modified to run with gas (propan?) and can take two or three passengers (but I've seen some, taking entire families with three children). The driving style of these guys have to be seen.

Bangalore

The first impact with Bangalore was the traffic. Here is a typical view during morning rush hours. Next photos will be hopefully with better quality. This was just to give you a first impression as my fellows and I had.
